Traditional Country Pub with Rooms
We are a family owned country pub located in the picturesque village of Langwathby, in northern Cumbria.
We serve home cooked meals in our restaurant, using ingredients from the surrounding areas, all from local suppliers and farms.
The inn features 6 unique rooms, offering weary travellers a warm and comfortable place to stay the night, enjoying a cooked Cumbrian breakfast the next morning.
We are open 7 days a week for food, drinks and a very warm welcome.
Langwathby
The word "Langwathby" means "Village by the long ford", referring to the majestic River Eden which runs right by it and on to the Solway Firth.
The Shepherds Inn is also at the crossing point of the Coast 2 Coast cycle route and frequently hosts cyclists looking for a quick rest and refuel. It is also located along the Eden Way, a walking route that follows the beautiful River Eden through the Eden valley.
Langwathby is also on the Settle to Carlisle railway and makes a great base to explore the wonderful Lake District, Northern Pennines and Eden Valley from.
